Answer the Call: The Campaign to Build The National Museum of Americans in Wartime

oday The National Museum of Americans in Wartime™ is a vision. By telling wartime stories of American men and women in authentic settings, we will honor their service, sacrifice, and courage, and we will inspire future generations. To make this vision a reality, we have embarked on our founding campaign with a goal of $100 million for design, construction, and endowment and with the commitment to open the Museum on Veterans Day, November 11, 2012. Our unique concept and design will allow the Museum to open in phases. For approximately $50 million, we can complete the Main Building, the first two Landscapes of War and interpretive buildings, restoration facilities, and hangars. We can finish the other Landscapes of war and facilities with an additional $25 million. To insure the future, $25 million is planned for endowment and reserves.

We will ask those who share our vision to "answer the call" with contributions ranging from as much as $25 million down to $100. We will appeal to individual philanthropists, foundations, corporations, organizations, and concerned citizens everywhere, from all walks of life, who believe in the importance of our mission. We will also call on federal, state, and local governments for grants that will honor their constituents who served America during wartime.
